GATES, Transaero Airlines Sign 10-Year Maintenance Agreement

GA Telesis Engine Services Oy or GATES has entered into a strategic agreement with Transaero Airlines, an international Russian airline. As part of the ten-year contract, worth $500 million, GATES will offer engine repair and refit services to sixty-two General Electric CF6-80C2 engines for Transaero’s fleet comprising of Boeing 767 and 747.

 

The maintenance for GATES’ major customer, Transaero, will be carried out at the GATES MRO facilities located in Helsinki, Finland. This month, GATES will be initiating the initial Transaero engine. As part of the contract, GATES will offer services in terms of core performance restitution and repair, life restricted parts substitution, maintenance procedures between renovations and on-wing maintenance.

GATES is a complete service engine repair station, located in Helsinki, Finland. The organization functions with EASA endorsement. All-inclusive commercial engine services like repair and overhaul services for the General Electric CF6-80C2, CFM International CFM56-5B/5C and Pratt & Whitney PW2000 engines are delivered by GATES. The organization has the capability to repair and refurbish a maximum of 200 engines annually.  

Transaero Airlines, established in November 1991, is Russia’s second-largest passenger airline. The airline’s fleet comprises of 99 aircraft, like twenty-four Boeing 747s, fourteen Boeing 777s, fifteen 767s, forty one 737s, three Tupolev 214 and two Tu-204-100C.
